B90, Day 58: God's amazing ability to forgive

>> Sunday, May 30, 2010

Scripture: Jeremiah 50:20

20 In those days, at that time,"
declares the LORD,
"search will be made for Israel's guilt,
but there will be none,
and for the sins of Judah,
but none will be found,
for I will forgive the remnant I spare.

Observation: God promises he will forgive his people.

Application: God has an amazing ability to forgive, ike all parents do. He truly loves us like a parent. He experiences disappointment, he disciplines as needed (quite harshly by most of our modern standards, but really He is doing what He feels is right), and he He forgives those who show remorse.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, What a great parent you are! And a great example for me to follow in my own parenting. Help me to continue growing in your word, as a person a christian, and a parent.

B90, Day 57: Following God's plan gives me Joy

Scripture: Jeremiah 39:18

18 I will save you; you will not fall by the sword but will escape with your life, because you trust in me, declares the LORD.' "

Observation: God is telling faithful people that he will save them because they trusted in him.

Application: Trust in God and he will save me. He already has saved me, he sent Jesus to die for my sins. I need to trust in Him. This has been something I've really been working on. Trusting God, letting Him have control, letting go. It is all interconnected. And it all boils down to one thing, God has a plan for me and He wants me to trust Him and that plan.

Prayer: Dearest Lord, I thank you for this incredible life you've provided for me. Thank you for showing me your word through my best friend. Thank you for giving me the ability to show your love to my daughters at such a young, impressionable age. It is a joy to see them filled with love for you!

God Hides Everywhere

So for the last several weeks my assistant store manager will always ask me what I am reading. Lately I've been bringing my Bible. So we've had some interesting discussions about my reading. Especially since I'm still in the Old Testament. He asked the version (New International Version for B90) and proclaimed it most readable. And said Old Testament is too boring. Asked me how I managed to get past the "begats" and today when I told him I was still in Jeremiah (it takes 5 reading days to get through) he said its pretty interesting stuff if you can decipher it. I think he's more Bible knowledgeable than he's let on til today!! And I love it!! You rock Assistant Manager!!

B90, Day 56: YOUR plan God

>> Friday, May 28, 2010

Scripture: Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Observation: The Lord is saying he knows the plans he has for his people.

Application: What a fabulous promise for us to hold to even in modern time God knows the plans he has for each of us. And His plan is for us to prosper to not be harmed and to have hope and a future. How can I not take a deep breath and relax when I read that!

Prayer: Dearest Heavenly Father, Thank you so much for leaving us such wonderful promises in your word. It helps to read them and know you want not only the best but the greatest for all of us. Thank you!!

No recent book reviews

>> Wednesday, May 26, 2010

Just wanted to post a quick apology. There will be no book review for Yada Yada book 2 or The Forbidden. Due to not having my own computer up and running for nearly a week, and it was a pretty hectic week at that, I was unable to get the reviews written. And now I just feel unable to do so adequately. I enjoyed both books very much.

B90, Day 55: I'm letting God have the control

Scripture: Jeremiah 10:23

23 I know, O LORD, that a man's life is not his own;
it is not for man to direct his steps.

Observation: Jeremiah is acknowledging that his life is in God's hands and control.

Application: With everything happening in my life and the lives of those people so close to me right now, this verse give me a lot of comfort. It's not my life. I just need to trust in God and let Him direct my steps. Or, as my best friend loves to tell me, and even wrote on my arm once, "Let Go, Let God." Jeremiah let go of his life and let God use him. I need to do the same so He can carry me through Satan's attempts to derail me.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for everything you do for me. For providing for me and always guiding me, no matter what new problem is put in my path. It shows me how this life is in your hands, not mine!

Please help me continue to give you the control, to give my concerns, my troubles, and my problems to you! Help me to remember that you alone have control.
