Nostalgia

Wow... I love most modern technologies, but really, some things are just SO classic... Drive in movie theater's! Last Saturday we set off for the drive in. All 10 us. We didn't tell the boys where we were going. Oh my, it was SO funny (and slightly annoying) listening to them ALL the way there. It only cost us TWENTY DOLLARS for all 10 of us. That works out to $1 per person per movie, it doesn't get much better than that. We had pre popped our own popcorn on the air popper at home, with some olive oil with roasted garlic, nutrtional yeast, and salt. YUM, and we'd made hot dogs in our rice cookers that we brought along. We had some sodas and water, lots of blankets, and our camping chairs. Everything we brought to eat was safe for BFF's DS with allergies.

The boys helped us get set up outside the van, and we put the girls into their strollers. While we were making the hot dogs for everyone the previews started. THIS is when the boys FINALLY figured out what was going on and got VERY excited.

The 2 movies we saw were UP, and Night at the Museum 2. Both great movies. The girls fell asleep during the first movie, no surprise there. It was just so nice, in the camp chairs, cuddled under a blanket, enjoying a good movie outdoors!! We started getting sprinkled on at the beginning of the 2nd movie, but fortunately it held out. We left the theater at about 1 am and got home around 2 am. I fell asleep on the drive home and was told it started really raining on the drive home.

The girls were good for us and slept in until around 9:30 am the next morning!! WOOHOO!!!

It was a great evening, and I'm really looking forward to doing it again soon!!!

Oh that sounds like SO much fun! Maybe that's what I'll do this Friday night...try and find a drive-in!

Oh it was SO much fun. We're going to TRY to go again this weekend. But the weather has been bad all week, and BFF isn't so sure about the selection of movies. I think we'll persuade her though :)
