So tired, so worn out...

It's been another crazy busy month.

The girls saw their new pediatrician's office for the first time up here earlier this month. They are growing well and have finally made it into the 25th percentile for height and weight. Per my request, Peanut is being referred out to Children's Hospital for Respiratory services. She has Reactive Airway Disease. This is a fancy way of basically saying she has asthma that only shows up when she gets sick, like a cold. The problem is, that because of it, when she gets a simple cold, it's NOT simple!!!!! The other problem is that we have begun to notice little things that indicate it is moving beyond RAD and into a more traditional asthma like condition. Sometimes when she runs a lot, or is giggling from being tickled she'll cough and wheeze. So we NEED to get that checked on and keep it under control.

Both girls are being referred out for possible lazy eye. Really, again, this is Peanut, but the Nurse Practitioner they saw felt it would be a good idea to have Bug checked too. I agreed.

The girls dental insurance cards arrived today and their first dentist appointments have been made. So yeah, they have another busy month ahead of them.

I slept funny about a week and a half ago and my whole back and neck have been messed up ever since.

Work has been, well, work. I have blog-able material, but bluntly, I'm not in the mood to think about it anymore tonight.

The twin club tag sale was this past weekend and we did pretty well. BFF and I spent a combined total of just over $300. Now before you choke... This is for two mom's shopping for a combined total of 6 children (one of her kids got nada). Here's the overall take on our "loot":
-a 6 speed bicycle which needs minimal work to be used as a christmas gift for someone
-2 small tables with chalkboard tops
-5 pairs of snow boots
-7-9 pair of regular shoes for the girls (including 2 pairs of REAL crocs for $4 per pair!!)
-some puzzles and games
-4 pair of VERY gently used size 10 Slim jeans for BFF's skinny DS1.
-Several church dresses for the girls
-Christmas dresses for BFF's girls (my girls will now inherit the dresses BFF has been holding onto for 2 years that her girls do not fit. They are beautiful and I'm honored that my girls will be able to wear them).
-and some other misc clothes for 2 of BFF's sons and all four girls. We picked up some non denim for the girls, some sweaters, and a few "way too cute" things. Also we got some lighter weight coats as snow gear isn't good ALL the time! LOL

Really, when you boil it right down, it's about $50 per child, which isn't too bad!!!! We were happy with our purchases.

Well, i need to call my mom and let her know I'm still alive. :) LOL

Forgive me?

>> Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Sorry for the unintentional blogging break, can you forgive me? LOL Life has just been so busy in the last 2 weeks.

A summary, if I can manage it.

I've been working like crazy. Most weeks lately I have 25 or more hours, this week is a slower week at only 23 hours but it's because I have 2 days off. I'll get to why soon. Last week I actually worked 33 hours and did 6 days straight!

A little over a week ago BFF's oldest DS got hurt on the trampoline and had to go to the ER for a nasty bump on the head. And then yesterday got hurt on the skateboard and broke his 2 front teeth and had to have emergency dental work done! *sigh*

ALL the kids have physicals in the next two weeks, that is why I have an extra day off this week. I asked to be off UNTIL 2 pm and my supervisor gave me the entire day off on Thursday, but that is fine, as I have PLENTY of other things to take care of that day! LOL

BFF's kids have dental appointments now for cleanings, and as soon as xDH gets my girls on the dental insurance (better text him about that), my girls will have appointments too).

The girls are growing like weeds and there is fear that our THREE year olds will not fit 3T clothing for long!!!!!! They are already wearing some 4T's and girls XS's!! But it is there FEET that seem to be giving us the most run for our money all of a sudden. BFF's DD, Duck, had been complaining about this ONE pair of shoes, now Duck has wider feet, so I looked at her feet. She has a cut on the toe. I showed BFF and said we needed to get her different shoes with more room (shoes didn't cause the cut but she needed some closed toe shoes to protect the toe while the cut heals). So we headed off to get Duck some shoes. She measures Duck, then Diva, her other DD, then she comes over to find me in the dresses and shoes me the SIZE NINE her Diva is wearing. OMG. The biggest shoes we had at home were EIGHTS!!! So out of fear, cuz I know MY girls aren't THAT much smaller than her's, we take Bug and Peanut to be sized, Bug is a solid 8, and Peanut is an 8 almost 8 1/2. So basically, NONE of the girls REALLY have shoes that will fit, or at least for very long. Some of BFF's girls shoes will fit MY girls for a LITTLE while because the brands run big, ya know?

So we run to Target, no shoes there, we go to Payless, she finds shoes, but I start to discover something. My poor Bug has NARROW feet, NOTHING fits her width wise. The evil words are uttered. Words that will cost me way too much money... Stride Rite. AHHHHHHHHH... Yes, My daughter is destined for expensive shoes. *sigh* She needs narrow shoes for now, and until this morning, there was only one place we could think of. But this morning I remembered another place, Preschoolians. I bought shoes from them before. They give a multiples discount. So I have sent off for the discount, and will be looking into both them and Stride Rite, but I HAVE to get poor Bug some properly fitting shoes quick!! LOL

Now onto our car seat dramas of late... *sigh*

We took the seats out of the car for cleaning, and read the manuals, and discovered our princesses are close to outgrowing them in HEIGHT!!! OMW!!!! Now in BFF's case this is less of an issue, as her seats are closer to their "age out" of 6 years too. But my seats are only 3 1/2 years old! *sigh* At least I know they have gotten used plenty!! So we started looking into seats that will accommodate taller children harnessed and convert into booster seats. We are looking at spending between $180-300 PER SEAT. *sigh*

On top of ALL of this other drama, Christmas is coming, and I have decided to go to EMT school and become an EMT again. That will happen in January. But I need at least $800 for the class. And then the money for the testing for MA, then the money for the testing for National Registry. Then I need to take Anatomy and Physiology and ACTUALLY PASS THE DANG CLASS for once in my life. Then take Paramedic and FINALLY become a Paramedic!!!!!! LOL At least once I am an EMT I will be working and making nearly double what I make now and have insurance!!

Well, I have a TON to do today!!!!

Life keeps on moving

As I said in my previous post, we went to Burlington and put coats and snow bibs on layaway for the kids. We ended up putting them on hold for all 7 kids because BFF said last year was tough finding stuff for her DS's. We managed to put all 7 sets (coats and FULL snow bibs) on layaway. The total cost for all 7 will be less than $200!!!! WOW. We put down 25% payment, and have to finish paying it off in 60 days. This means basically if we pay $50 for each payday it'll be paid off.

On the downside. We discovered today that the store we'd be HOPING to put our girls Christmas presents on layaway at doesn't DO layaway. :( I'm quite saddened over this actually. So we are now on the hunt for stores that have the item and DO layaway, or have said item for a little less money. Our concern is that by the time we have the money to do it, they won't have the item anymore!!!

I got my hair cut yesterday. As soon as I'm actually happy with the look I'll post a picture. I liked it at first, but as it dried I became unhappy with the length, not as long as I wanted and felt like it was too "in between" and I'd rather go shorter. And the place I went has a 7 day guarantee, so I could go back easily enough for free. The problem with that is that BFF cut her hair yesterday too. She ended up going about as short as I would if I went back and did another cut. She went shorter than she planned, but it was so she could donate her incredibly beautiful hair. I'm so proud of her for this. :) And her cut looks BEAUTIFUL. But if I cut my hair shorter we will SO look like the bobbsy twins! LOL SO, I am pretty much stuck with it for now. She likes it on me though. She says it's a good length.

I also dyed my hair last night. I used a color I've used NUMEROUS times before that usually looks exactly like my natural color. But this time it turned out blueish. I think someone switched something on me. It doesn't look right. I know some of it will wash out with time, and we will add some highlights to break up the monotony of the color. But until then... Yeah... LOL

Okay, whining done! LOL

Happy September!!

>> Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Wow, hard to believe it's September already!!!

Sorry about the unexpected break in my blog. I had to take a break though. I was getting so busy and I just did not have the time to devote to it.

We are fully moved into the "new" house, well, let me rephrase that, all of our belongings are here. LOL We still have SO MUCH unpacking to do. But it's a start. We try to get to a couple boxes everyday. We finally got my curtains up last night :) I didn't need them, but they were nice to put up and add some color to my room.

I've been working hard, but it's same old same old. Interesting customers, stupid returns, and lottery tickets.

BFF's brother is visiting, and we've been having a lot of fun. Yesterday we headed towards the cape. We had a picnic lunch at the Forefather's monument in Plymouth, and I got a couple T-shirts for myself and a mutual friend of mine and BFF's. I text teased her that I bought her pink, she does NOT wear pink! LOL

We visited Plymouth Rock and then headed out. We headed down the coastline toward the cape. BFF's Bro wanted to see the beach really badly so we found our way to the beach. The girls hadn't really been the a true beach before and were a little afraid of the waves at first. But they got used to them pretty quickly. Peanut especially was running in and outta the waves so much!!!! The kids were all smiles and giggles. It was so much fun to watch. We DID take pix but they are not all uploaded. My facebook friends, there's 2 or 3 pix from my phone on there under mobile uploads.

Today we have some "business" to attend to. We are running to Burlington Coat Factory to put some winter coats on layaway for the girls. $100 for 4 winter coats AND snow bibs, can't fight that! And then to another store to put some Christmas gifts on layaway. hehe. We gotta get me some more work socks, and do some short grocery shopping.

I started a water delivery here to the house last week as the tap water didn't taste as good to me here and I felt this would be a good way to start rebuilding my credit. Well, we started noticing that our "cooler" wasn't giving cold water, at all. In fact, it was warm, no, very warm. Like, you'd better add ice to get it remotely cool warm. BFF and I finally used our espresso thermometer to measure the temp yesterday. The "cold" side was coming out at NINETY degrees!!!!! I called the company this morning and was EXTREMELY impressed with their customer service. I work in customer service, and I know that most customers walk in expecting a fight. I try NOT to be that person. I explained what was happening to the gal, and also about the constant drip coming from the spout. She said the water SHOULD be coming out as cold as if it were in the refrigerator! So tomorrow they are sending out a new cooler. And because of the constant drip they are sending an extra bottle of water at no charge (so wasn't expecting THAT!! :) ). And she could hear the girls in the background and asked if I'd like the cold water spout childproofed so they couldn't play with it so easily, for free!!!! WOW... Now THAT is GREAT customer service!!!

In other things. I started my second cake class last week. The nice thing about THIS class is we only make ONE cake, for the very last class. YAY! The rest of the class is making these flowers that we save for the last cake, joy.

Well, I think that about brings you up to date for now. I will try to get back to a daily posting of my life!! :)

Nique
