Update on me

>> Sunday, January 29, 2012

K, I've been a way for a while. Life. So here's quick update on me.

July-moved here

August-tried to get a job, interviewed and made it final 3 for a great job. Did NOT get the job. Took a phlebotomy course (thanks mom) to help me find a good job.

September-finally sucked it up and got a retail job. Some money is better than no money. Found another source of income, totally legal. :D Just email if you want info. Offered to be the Earliteen/Youth Sabbath School teacher at church. Pathfinders got going.

October-Continued working retail but putting in applications for better jobs. Started teaching my Sabbath school class, felt to be at a bit of a loss, low attendance, low participation.

November-continued working retail, gave up applying for jobs. But got an email from phlebotomy school about possible opportunity. I submitted a resume. I was called the next day to interview. Turned out to be an opportunity through a temp agency, but ya know what, the company I'd be working at is an AWESOME company and the likelihood was I'd be hired in the long run. Began the training near Thanksgiving. Suddenly having a full time job was a bit of a shock.

December-Ended up quitting retail job altogether (had been only working one day a week, but even that proved to be too much). Trained at new job until the week of Christmas. Passed practical and both written tests. I began my shift, on graveyards, the week after Christmas.

January-Still working hard. Was told last week that I will be hired in another 2-3 weeks!!!! Can't wait to have the other benefits that employees of the company have. :D Insurance, quarterly bonuses, tuition reimbursment, etc. :D Found a groove in Sabbath school, and my attendance at class is now steadily between 6-9 kids!!!! :D

February-stay tuned!! Now that I am settling into my schedule at work, I should have more time to blog again!

I HATE MOVING.

We've been here since the 12th. Got into the house on the 20th. And we are STILL moving everything out of storage, and living with boxes all around. BUT... There's only 4 pieces of furniture left in the storage unit!!! And a lot of boxes. :)

I had to leave my job, that I LOVED, to move here. No regrets, I LOVE living here!! But, I have no job yet! I have put out close to 40 applications. Been turned down already for 4 jobs. That's okay. :) I WILL find a job.

I am starting a phlebotomist training course tomorrow night. In 4 weeks I will be able to sit for the national certification test, a necessary step before seeking employment as a phlebotomist. I am hoping to be able to start applying for phlebotomist positions within 6 weeks. :)

And then I am planning to take the CNA course (Certified Nurse's Assistant) and it's cooresponding national certification test as well. Maybe in 6-12 months. I'm not in a huge rush to take it, for me, it's not for employment, but to be able to apply to the RN program.

Speaking of which, I need to go do my car's emissions test this week so I can register it, and also get my driver's license here in Utah. Also on the list is getting my library card. All are steps towards proving my Utah residency. I'm HOPING to be able to get in-state tuition in the spring, but it may have to be summer. Then I can apply to Weber State University and start taking the pre-req's for the RN program. Especially all those pesky Science and Math classes. I have a history of "difficulty" with Anatomy and Physiology. A history of failing it!!! LOL But that was close to ten years ago, so let's hope I have a better shot at it now!

The end of the "era"

>> Thursday, June 30, 2011

Well ladies and gentlemen... THAT is all she wrote. I am done with my employment here in Massachusetts! I am also currently unemployed. Hopefully THAT won't last too long!!! :) They have been great for me. And I will really miss them. I thank my friends and co-workers who stopped by during the last hours (and minutes) of my shift to help me end it on a high note!! I wish everyone there the very best.

Look me up on facebook, and for those already on facebook, tell the others to find me. :)

Last Day at Work

Tonight is my last night at work. :( I'm sad about leaving. I really like working there. I have worked there longer than anywhere.

I know I am leaving for all the right reasons. It's been a good ride, I have learned SO MUCH while I've been there. It has been a wonderful growing experience for me. I feel that I've become a better employee, more rounded and have so much more experience. They gave me supervisory experience, which I am completely grateful for. That opens a world of possibilities for me as I move forward.

And I have made fabulous friends there. Really, friends I love to invite over for cupcakes, friends who come and fight battles with Spark Plug 6 with me, and friends I am HAPPY to drive to go pick up to get them to work on time. :) I will miss them all, and I hope they have a chance to come visit me in Utah. :) And hopefully a little way down the road I will be able to come visit them again here in Massachusetts. :)

almost unemployed!

I am sitting in Starbucks right now waiting. I finished work today. I have ONE shift left tomorrow before I am done here. And then I will enter a short phase of "unemployed". It's a little strange. I certainly wouldn't be unemployed right now for any other reason, but due to the lag time of moving, plus the uncertainty of where exactly we will be living, I put off applying for the new job until now. It's okay though.

I will apply today, and it is still 3 weeks until I can begin working. I will probably go ahead and apply to some other places as well, when we get out there. But I want to give this one application it's best chance.

My week

>> Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Haven't got a ton to blog about this week. We are getting over some kind of bug here at home. EVERYONE is starting to feel better. YAY!!

I'm reading a great book, but it's taking me a bit longer than most my books do. It's American Wife, by Curtis Sittenfeld. I'm a little less than half way through it. By definition, it is a chunkster (450 pages at regular size print, this is over 550!). It's not my usual style, but I'm still quite into it. :)

My birthday is Friday and I've already recieved a few cards, my parents sent me a gift card to Barnes and Noble YAY! I placed an order today! LOL I probably would have waited, but BFF got a 50% off one item coupon code in her Email this morning, so it seemed to make sense. I ended up ordering 4 books, a trilogy that sounded interesting and a book by Joyce Myer's that also sounded interesting. I only ended up paying $8.40 of my own money. I like that :) Free shipping too!!! hehe

I was scheduled to only work 23 hours this week, which was kind of a bummer after several weeks of 28-30 hour work weeks. But this morning my manager called and asked if I had requested tomorrow off. I told her No, just to work after 2 instead of the morning. She was very happy, she needs coverage tomorrow! WOOHOO!! I get to work a 28 hour week now!!!

So my week is going pretty well. :)

How I spent my Thursday (and why my Bible reading did not get done...)

>> Friday, January 8, 2010

Okay, right off the bat I will admit, my Bible in 90 Days reading for Day 7 did not get done yesterday. I will do it this morning as soon as I finish this blog!

I got up fairly early yesterday to head out to one of the cities about 30 minutes away that has both a Social Security Office and an RMV. Both of these agencies have offices closer to home, but NOT as close to each other. The beauty of going out to this particular city to do this was that I literally was able to walk ONE BLOCK from SS to RMV.

So I got into SS and got my little number from the machine, and waited. I was C22. They had B numbers, 60's, and C's. Of the C's they were on C11. I still waited over an hour. I really didn't think I was going to have time for RMV. Now, as I'm sitting there I can feel my sinuses getting worse and worse. It's become a lovely sinus infection. No big deal just gotta get through it. But I'm in a public building ya know??

So finally I get called, I take my paperwork to the window, and the gal was great, no hassle, she even found a spelling error I hadn't noticed! Got it all done and I check the wait time at RMV on their website through my cell phone. Only 32 minutes for a license. And I have an hour til I have to leave the city. I'm GOOD!

So I walk to the RMV. I get my number there. Now they are PLOWING through the numbers. I fill out my application, and get all my paperwork together to make this easy on myself and I wait. And half an hour passes, 45 minutes passes... I'm getting real close to the one hour mark, but they also are only ONE number away from me. Tough call ya know?

I make the decision to wait it out. I'm running a risk of being late to work, but I DO need to get this done and I'm FINALLY front of the line. I get called. I get there and the guy is so confused. Half my documentation is my "married" name, half is my "maiden" now restored last name. I explain it and he says we have to put me in the system under the "married" name and clear homeland security, and driving record, THEN go back, change my name, clear me AGAIN, and then I am good. Oh my. He works quickly, but it takes 20 minutes.

I text BFF's DH and ask him to get the kids ready and get my work stuff ready too so WHEN I finally get there we are ready to go. I finally get all my stuff from RMV guy, including my little temporary paper license, I pay him the $100 (OUCH) and practically run out the door. I get to the car (meter ALMOST ran out) and get going.

Like a GOOD girl I had put the GPS in my bag, but hadn't shut it off right away. At some point all the stuff in there had reset it to walking route!! So as I drive off it's not putting me on the freeway! I pull over and change the GPS to driving routes and finally get on the freeway. At this point I know I can't POSSIBLY make it to work on time, and I want to cry. So I calmly call work and ask to speak to the manager. I had mentioned to that manager that I was going this week to do this, and so when I told her why I was running late she kind of understood. Plus we were only talking 15-20 minutes.

It's at this point that I realize I have not eaten a BITE of food all day, I have NONE in the car, and there's no time to get any before work. Drats. Oh well, Gotta make it til break. And I did but boy was I hungry.

So I did get to work, just about the full 20 minutes late I anticipated, and started working, and started feeling worse and worse. This darn head sinus thing was just making me miserable. I was (am) totally stuffed up. I was getting a sinus headache from being so stuffed up. I just wanted to quit. Finally i got my break and ate some food. YAY for nourishment. :)

Then back to work until 8 when BFF picked me up and we went to Walgreens to get prescriptions and then WalMart for juice and then home where I didn't even LOOK a my computer, I just went upstairs. I watched some of the 'Bama/Texas game and fell asleep and then BFF woke me up so I wasn't sleeping in my jeans! LOL

So THAT was my Thursday, and no where in there did I manage to get my reading done. I was too on edge while at SS and RMV to read. I had my Bible and notebook with me. And I got a LITTLE bit of the reading done, but not much... So sometime today I will do the rest of yesterdays and all of today's :) No biggie, just catch up :)

Worn out

>> Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Oh boy it's been a long couple of days. I am feeling worn out. I have a cold that is trying to kick my tail, but I'm not letting it!

Yesterday morning I got quite a bit accomplished, all by phone. Then I worked a 6 hour shift. I came home and did my Bible in 90 Days reading, talked with BFF for a bit and went to bed.

Today I watched the kids while BFF went to an appointment. The boys were cleaning their room and I set the girls up with a movie. I was then able to accomplish some reading for myself. Then when BFF came home we only had a short amount of time before we had to leave to take a friend to her work. Then we had a quick lunch out before they dropped me off at work. I made some copies and then dropped off some mail at the post office and got a drink before heading in for my 5 hour shift. After work, BFF picked me up, we went to Starbucks for a drink and a shared cupcake before coming home. I have done my Bible in 90 days reading and now I am TOTALLY ready for bed.

On tap for tomorrow is a 6 hour morning shift at work followed by sitting on my backside at Starbucks waiting to be picked up (bad timing on the part of my boss, *sigh*) and then our King's Day Celebration. I'm very excited about this! :)

Thursday... BFF has to take Duck to an appointment, her DH is taking the day off work to watch all the kids. He has an appointment early in the morning, when he gets home I am leaving to go to Social Security and get my name changed, WOOHOO. Then I have a 6 hour shift at work. IF, and it's a HUGE if, somehow I manage to get through SS FAST, I will try to head to motor vehicles and see about doing my Driver's License too, but I am SO not holding my breath! LOL

So that is about it for today! Hope you are all having a good week too!

Some updates

>> Monday, December 28, 2009

I have spent a good portion of this morning going through old blogs and putting labels on all the old posts. As BFF lost a piece of information yesterday and had to search through her blog the HARD way because she had done SOME labeling but as many of us do, had not totally labeled her blogs. So she had to go through and find the blog in question. She mentioned that she needs to go through and label her blogs so this doesn't happen again. It made me think, most of my blogs are unlabeled as well. So that is what I have spent probably 2 hours doing this morning. (In between breaking up little fights with the kids, taking care of them, getting coffee, etc. LOL)

I also wrote one update during this, it is the post immediately prior (I suppose following this LOL) to this one about Bug's speech/hearing. I felt it was very pertinent as I read that prior post. I did also post one embedded edit into a prior post, it's one that I felt was better to put as a retrospective edit that looking back that was a powerful day.

But most importantly there were some little things that I jotted down to write about in a new post.

One post I wrote some months back What do you want to do with your life? needs a bit of an update. In it I was excited to move on to learning to do cakes and possibly turn this into something more. I did begin the Wilton courses as you can see from several of my subsequent posts over the following months. I completed courses 1 and 2. I did quite well. I enjoyed it quite a bit. And I discovered that although I enjoy doing it as a hobby and enjoy having the more advanced skills of having taken the classes, I do NOT want it as a career.

I ended up spending SIGNIFICANTLY more money for the classes than anticipated. And although it WAS fun, it was also frustrating. My work schedule made it quite difficult at times to concentrate because I'd end up going straight from work to class. I'd be tired, sometimes aching from scanning groceries all day. I just realized toward the end of the second class it was NOT for me. I did not sign up for class three, and I've had no regrets about it.

I enjoy baking cakes for church, our family, and when asked, for friends. BFF and I still do mostly vegan cakes, it has become our specialty sort of. People at church who are having parties for their children who are NOT vegan and are ordering a big non-vegan cake and are inviting us and any vegan guests will ask us to do a smaller cake for BFF's children (due to the allergies, not because we are vegan. Most store cakes involve a LOT of soy) and any vegan's in attendance.

Another factor in that post was why I did NOT want to go back into the medical field. The fact is, the more I think about the more I realized how much I miss it. I really enjoyed being an EMT, and I really wanted to go on and be a Paramedic. So I am now planning to go back. I really WANT to go back this spring, but for personal and financial reasons I don't think it's going to happen. But hopefully by summer the financial side will be worked out, as well as the personal.

Another thing I wanted to update on... In this post: So much to update on I had said I wanted to be more minimalist. NOT that I wanted to get rid of everything, or be one of those people with only 100 personal possessions. Just that I wanted to purchase less, be more cautious about WHAT I purchased so that I could purchase NICER things, etc. Well, I have been trying to do that to an extent. Although I am still sticking for the most part to my rules about shopping (most items on sale, etc.). But due to my weight loss, I've had to buy a LOT of clothes lately, especially pants. I've actually been able to get BACK into some pants I haven't been able to wear in YEARS, so that is great. But the fact is, the time has come for a purge. I have GOT to go through the closet, the drawers, etc. Sort out what fits, what doesn't, and what has no hope of ever fitting. Some of my things that don't fit, BFF will fit now or soon. (I'm only a size or 2 smaller than her and we've both been losing weight). But there are distinct body differences between us, so some things will NEVER fit her. Those things need to go.

I need to do this same purge with the girls toys. I have multiple boxes of toys and animals in the garage that they haven't played with in MONTHS. MOST of them can be sold. They have plenty of toys inside. Most of the toys in the boxes in the garage they have "aged" out of anyway, since they are primarily rated for 18-24 months!! So, I think that in the near future I will be doing a MASSIVE toy purge. Fortunately I do have a great twin club that I can sell many of the toys to.

I am in the process of setting some goals for 2010. I will make a separate post for them, one that will post on January 1st. So yes, you will have to wait!! LOL I don't believe in setting resolutions for the year. I don't like them, I think that it sets me up for disappointment. I prefer to have goals. Because I do not feel as much sense of failure or disappointment in myself if I do not succeed. I know to most people it is a matter of semantics. But it matters to me.

So what sort of goals can you expect to see on my list?? No, I won't be totally mean and make you wait. What you will NOT see is "I will lose 20 pounds" or "I will work out 2 hours every day" or anything like that. I have in mind some spiritual goals, some physical/fitness goals, educational goals, employment goals, financial goals, and parenting goals. None are set in stone, none are make it or break it, none will make me feel like a failure if by December 31, 2010 I have NOT completed them. A goal is just a guideline, something to aim for. I will NOT tie my self esteem or self worth to it!

I will try to blog a bit in the next few days if time permits, otherwise, look for my 2010 Goals on January 1, 2010!!! :)

Long Day

>> Monday, December 14, 2009

You know those days... that ones that just never seem to end. Today is that day. I am dragging some SERIOUS monkey butt for some reason. It's been a bit rough for me today. Interesting mail, still recovering kiddos, extra people in the house, work, and oh boy do the people at the store want their stamps. You would think postage stamps were going out of style!!!!

So yeah... Lots of craziness and a long day for me.

Busy week ahead...

>> Sunday, December 13, 2009

Hot coffee and homemade peppermint biscotti is being quickly put down my throat, and the car is already warming up/defrosting outside. I need to be on my way to work in about 5 minutes really, 10 at the most (but I could still clock in on time if I left in 15, how sad is that??). OH how I dislike the 7 am shift... there is NOTHING to do a 7 am at that store!!! It will pick up a little at about ten.

My parents arrived yesterday, and my ex-husband arrives Friday. Let the mayhem begin! LOL Tomorrow BFF and I are taking advantage of the baby sitters to go do Pilates. Since Peanut is contagious and we can't risk the others being possibly contagious we can't put ANY of them in daycare at the Y. But Grandma and Grandpa don't mind :). And I need to call the doctor's and let them know Savannah is now sick. And I have to call the insurance and verify info about Bug's upcoming MRI. And I have work tomorrow.

And I work Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm off Thursday. I don't like mid-week days off. :( They are not nice. I work Friday right up to my special requested time off to allow just a sufficient time to go get the ex from the airport.

Saturday is Sabbath and we will be HOPEFULLY taking 13 people. That is if Peanut is healthy and no other kids come down with it by then. *sigh*

Well, Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's off to work I go...

Have a FABULOUS day!!!!! :)

The parents are here

The parent's are here
Bug is feeling MUCH better, her sores are nearly gone!! Praise God!
Peanut now has the sores, :( but we know what to do this time!
I have to work WAY too early in the morning. BOO
The Saints game will not be broadcast here tomorrow, but hopefully we'll be able to watch it on NFL replay.

Overall, Life is pretty darn good and I can't complain too much. Peanut will survive just as Bug did, but she'll be pretty miserable for a few days. :(

Snow

>> Saturday, December 5, 2009

50 days ago I reported our first snow flakes of the season, but it didn't stick. It was pretty to watch it coming down while watching our awesome New Orleans Saints win a game though! :)

2 days ago the weather was 70 degrees and we made all the kids go outside to play because we weren't sure how much longer Indian Summer would last (yes, technically it wasn't Indian Summer because snow had already fallen, but the snow the freak thing!).

I just got home from the store, it is snowing, and this is no joke snow. It is COLD, and it is expected to stick and accumulate. It is expected to be the "first plowable" snow of the season with an accumulation of 2-5 inches overnight.

I'm excited about our first real snow, and that this means we just might have a white Christmas. But it's going to make getting to work tomorrow a bit interesting. People always drive a little crazy that first day after. Hopefully all the roads will have been plowed by the time I need to go to work too.

In just a little while BFF and I are heading out for a Tupperware party at a friend's house. Snow is NOT stopping us! LOL

No creative title to this Blog.

>> Friday, November 27, 2009

Sorry I haven't had a chance to update more lately. It's been a long and tiring week. My manager had me on regular cash registers Sunday through Wednesday, because it was going to be so busy. And it was busy, and it wore me out. And BFF and I stayed pretty busy each evening.

Thanksgiving was a great day. We cooked an awesome dinner:
22 lb Turkey
Gravy
Dressing
Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potato Casserole
Yeast Rolls
Green Beans
Spinach
Cranberry Sauce
Pumpkin Crunch
Pecan Pie

It was ALL made totally from scratch due to the food allergen issues in our home.

Today I was VERY grateful to stay away from the sales. I had to work, and was back to the Service Desk, but it was quickly dubbed the day that "if it could go wrong it WOULD go wrong." Within the first two hours the lottery machine went down, the coinstar machine broke down, it was discovered that certain sales were not ringing up properly in the registers, several gift cards purchased had not been activated yet the customers had been charged for them. We didn't have a regular manager today, it was a department manager who doesn't really know how to handle front end problems... And it continued like this all day long. I was SO glad to walk away from the store today!

I'm looking forward to church tomorrow, hoping for a quiet and peaceful service. A nice down day at home with my family. And maybe some quiet time to myself when the girls take a nap. Maybe I'll work on some of my Bible studies tomorrow.

I hope you all have a Blessed Sabbath. :)

THIS SICKNESS SUCKS

>> Thursday, November 5, 2009

Seriously... I am so tired of being sick. I must have gotten hit the hardest in the house. I'm still the sickest. Several people are still coughing, including the little ones. But I have been totally out of it.

I had to call out of work for three days. My boss gave me a hassle about it of course. Then there was confusion if I needed to get a doctors note to come back to work. I wasted two hours yesterday going to a drug store clinic and waiting to be seen only to be told (BEFORE being seen fortunately, and before having to pay anything) that they do not write return to work notes. When I called my boss to tell her this she got huffy and said she didn't need a note for me to come back, just if I was going to be out the rest of the week. Grrrr... that wasn't what the OTHER supervisor told me the night before. And that is what I told her.

So she says give me half an hour to figure it out and I'll call you back.

An hour later she calls me back. I don't need a note.

Only problem is, I ended up so stressed out yesterday that I think I'm now sicker today than I was yesterday. *sigh* I work the evening shift tonight. so please cross your fingers and pray that I do okay tonight.

Needed a break

>> Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Hi to all my bloggy readers.

I promise I didn't forget about any of you. I just had to take a bit of a break. I felt like my whole like had been on a roller coaster lately and I really needed to apply the brakes and slow it all down as much as possible. I needed to concentrate on my little girls in a HAPPY and HEALTHY way (in other words on THEM, not their illnesses). And I needed to concentrate on ME too.

Here's the brief rundown of my past week:

Monday, October 19th: Bug got her EEG removed, JOY!!!! I worked a 6 hour shift at work! :)

Tuesday, October 20th: We dropped off Bug's prescription which would need to be special ordered and we went to pick up Peanut and Duck's glasses. Duck had been so excited but then seemed almost unhappy about them. Peanut who had been a little more indifferent about them all along was still a little more indifferent but has accepted and tolerated her glasses better. Then I worked a 6 hour shift.

Wednesday, October 21st: I left for work for a 6 hour shift and BFF and the kids dropped off her DH at the airport for an overnight trip for work. That night I got angry, and I don't even remember what caused the anger, and barreled down the hallway in the dark and kicked a crate I didn't know was there. I apparently nearly removed the toenail from the big toe. I didn't realize this though at first. It took a few minutes til I looked down and saw copious amounts of blood on the comforter on the ground (at least it wasn't the carpet). Finally I accepted what had happened and BFF and I got me patched up and I took something for the then THROBBING pain.

Thursday, October 22nd: Foot in INTENSE pain, realize I cannot put MOST of the shoes I own on, including my Uggs. Or work shoes... Thank goodness I didn't have to go to work. But I could wear my crocs. I had to take Peanut to the doctor. I got her seat moved into the Sports car and off we went. She was seeing the Pulmonologist about her Respiratory Airway Disease. RAD is a catch all term for asthma like condition that isn't really asthma. In Peanut's case, when she gets sick, such as a cold, it gets BAD, she wheezes, til she can't really breathe and I end up giving her albuterol treatments. So anyway. The appointment went very well. She was extremely healthy this week which was actually a good thing. because we were able to get a good baseline HEALTHY chest x-ray, so if she does get sick there's something to compare it too. The doctor said if you tried to tell him this child was healthy he would tell you that you were CRAZY, but that if you told him this child was an RAD child he'd tell you this was a perfectly normal, healthy x-ray.

We discussed medication. He is happy with Albuterol for abortive treatments, as we have been doing. He and I discussed how many times she's been on oral steroids (fortunately not too many times, I am EXTREMELY opposed to having her on steroids if I can avoid it, as I worry about what they are doing to her, but I do see the need sometimes.) He suggested putting her on a daily inhaled steroid for maintenance. In many ways this goes against EVERYTHING for me. Because I HATE having my child on steroids. BUT... he and I had quite a lively discussion about it. It went something like this...

Albuterol is a steroid too. But I am totally willing to use it because bluntly if she's having an attack I HAVE to stop it. So... if she has a cold and it lasts, lets say 5 days, that's a good average for her, and I have to give her 3 treatments a day, that's 15 treatments per cold. Now then, if she has 2 colds per month, again, about average for her, she is receiving about 30 doses of the steroid in albuterol. Now then... the point of the maintenance medication is to hopefully keep her from needing as many if any treatments of albuterol when she gets sick.

So... if she gets one dose daily of the maintenance med (approx 30 doses per month), vs. 30 or more doses of albuterol in a month... well, she's getting the same, if not LESS steroid in a month... LOL At least that's the theory. So in the end I agreed that she was probably better off on the maintenance med, so we discussed which one and put her onto Flovent for the winter.

Come spring if she has had a good winter we will discuss other possibilities, such as allergy testing. Her environment from last winter to this winter has changed dramatically so I am concerned that she is possibly allergic to things that were present before and are not now. If that is true I want to know so we can avoid putting those things BACK into her environment!

The rest of Thursday was a kick back enjoy ourselves kind of day until late late late when we all went to the airport to pick up BFF's DH.

Friday, October 23rd: Despite an extremely late night for everyone we had an early morning as BFF, her DH and their DS3 has to get up pretty early for a doctor's appointment for DS3 in Boston. They were under the impression that it would be just a shorter morning appointment, but it ended up being 2 appointments and they were gone all morning. The kids at home were pretty good for me overall though and I suggested we take them all out for a treat! We dropped BFF's DH at work and went to Target to pick up a few things and the kids were totally different. They had been GREAT for me at home but then they weren't at the store. *sigh* Oh well.

Saturday, October 24th: Blessed Sabbath: Raining like cats and dogs. We headed off to church and enjoyed a wonderful Sabbath. It was nice. BFF and I spent part of he afternoon with a friend for her birthday. And then we took the kids to a birthday party that evening that evening for a little boy from church (after sundown). It was great fun. It was a bounce house facility. ALL the kids had a blast! :)

Sunday, October, 25th: We went to Tougas Farms to pick apples. We went with the Framingham Centre Church Adventurer Group, but our Twin Club was there as well. :) We primarily stuck to the Adventurer's as BFF and I are Little Lambs Leaders and 6 of our 7 kids are in Adventurer's. Plus, the Adventurer's were actually going apple picking as a group, the twin club wasn't. After the apple picking we did "make an appearance" at the twin club area and sign in. All the kids had a fun time. BFF's mom arrived in the evening.

Monday, October 26th: We had a fairly un productive morning in some aspects. LOL we got some stuff done but overall we did very little LOL BFF's mom left for NYC for work about half an hour before I left for work. I worked my shift, my toe hurt pretty good, but I made it through.

Today: I have phone calls to make and errands to run, then a 6 hour shift to work. Hopefully my toe will hurt less today. One can only hope right?

So that is my week (plus) :)

Forgive me?

>> Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Sorry for the unintentional blogging break, can you forgive me? LOL Life has just been so busy in the last 2 weeks.

A summary, if I can manage it.

I've been working like crazy. Most weeks lately I have 25 or more hours, this week is a slower week at only 23 hours but it's because I have 2 days off. I'll get to why soon. Last week I actually worked 33 hours and did 6 days straight!

A little over a week ago BFF's oldest DS got hurt on the trampoline and had to go to the ER for a nasty bump on the head. And then yesterday got hurt on the skateboard and broke his 2 front teeth and had to have emergency dental work done! *sigh*

ALL the kids have physicals in the next two weeks, that is why I have an extra day off this week. I asked to be off UNTIL 2 pm and my supervisor gave me the entire day off on Thursday, but that is fine, as I have PLENTY of other things to take care of that day! LOL

BFF's kids have dental appointments now for cleanings, and as soon as xDH gets my girls on the dental insurance (better text him about that), my girls will have appointments too).

The girls are growing like weeds and there is fear that our THREE year olds will not fit 3T clothing for long!!!!!! They are already wearing some 4T's and girls XS's!! But it is there FEET that seem to be giving us the most run for our money all of a sudden. BFF's DD, Duck, had been complaining about this ONE pair of shoes, now Duck has wider feet, so I looked at her feet. She has a cut on the toe. I showed BFF and said we needed to get her different shoes with more room (shoes didn't cause the cut but she needed some closed toe shoes to protect the toe while the cut heals). So we headed off to get Duck some shoes. She measures Duck, then Diva, her other DD, then she comes over to find me in the dresses and shoes me the SIZE NINE her Diva is wearing. OMG. The biggest shoes we had at home were EIGHTS!!! So out of fear, cuz I know MY girls aren't THAT much smaller than her's, we take Bug and Peanut to be sized, Bug is a solid 8, and Peanut is an 8 almost 8 1/2. So basically, NONE of the girls REALLY have shoes that will fit, or at least for very long. Some of BFF's girls shoes will fit MY girls for a LITTLE while because the brands run big, ya know?

So we run to Target, no shoes there, we go to Payless, she finds shoes, but I start to discover something. My poor Bug has NARROW feet, NOTHING fits her width wise. The evil words are uttered. Words that will cost me way too much money... Stride Rite. AHHHHHHHHH... Yes, My daughter is destined for expensive shoes. *sigh* She needs narrow shoes for now, and until this morning, there was only one place we could think of. But this morning I remembered another place, Preschoolians. I bought shoes from them before. They give a multiples discount. So I have sent off for the discount, and will be looking into both them and Stride Rite, but I HAVE to get poor Bug some properly fitting shoes quick!! LOL

Now onto our car seat dramas of late... *sigh*

We took the seats out of the car for cleaning, and read the manuals, and discovered our princesses are close to outgrowing them in HEIGHT!!! OMW!!!! Now in BFF's case this is less of an issue, as her seats are closer to their "age out" of 6 years too. But my seats are only 3 1/2 years old! *sigh* At least I know they have gotten used plenty!! So we started looking into seats that will accommodate taller children harnessed and convert into booster seats. We are looking at spending between $180-300 PER SEAT. *sigh*

On top of ALL of this other drama, Christmas is coming, and I have decided to go to EMT school and become an EMT again. That will happen in January. But I need at least $800 for the class. And then the money for the testing for MA, then the money for the testing for National Registry. Then I need to take Anatomy and Physiology and ACTUALLY PASS THE DANG CLASS for once in my life. Then take Paramedic and FINALLY become a Paramedic!!!!!! LOL At least once I am an EMT I will be working and making nearly double what I make now and have insurance!!

Well, I have a TON to do today!!!!
