It's tomorrow, and I am READY. My Bible is ready, I have a new journal, and I have been praying about it. I have a certainty in my heart. I am committed to staying on track this time and finishing.

The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Real, by Neta Jackson

If you like drama, this is the right book. The Yada Yada sisters have their fair share.
Chanda FINALLY wins the lottery.
Avis gets married.
Jodi realizes she's perfect the way she is.
Yo-Yo gets baptized.
Stu stops trying to run from herself.
Flo's daughter comes to accept Flo as her mommy.
Hoshi, Flo, Jodi, Stu and the others ask the parole board to grant early parole to the very woman that attacked them less than a year before. And when they are told she has no hope of that parole because she has no home to be sent to for house arrest, Stu opens her home and heart to Becky Wallace. Since she lives in the apartment above Jodi and her family that means Stu's new housemate becomes Jodi's new neighbor too!
Jodi finally comes to realize that she MUST speak to the mother of the young man she accidentally killed when she had the car accident. She gets her chance. She expresses her sorrow and regrets for her part in the accident. And to her surprise, the mother responds by telling her that her son played a role in it too. They come to a peace with each other.
At Yo-Yo's baptism Becky makes a decision that surprises everyone and she asks to be baptized as well and with the help of some Yada Yada sisters Pastor Clark baptizes her. This quickly becomes a group "re-baptism" as many of the sisters "dunk" themselves in the lake and release the things holding them back and rededicate their lives to God.
With such a heartfelt, powerful ending, this book has left me salivating for the next one!!!!

B90, My new motivation, aka, how the 11 year old will force me to keep up!
Problem 1: Nique WANTS to do the Bible in 90 Days Challenge but is concerned that "life" will interfere again.
Problem 2: BFF WANTS her son ~L to read the Bible, but he comes up with excuses.
Answer to BOTH problems...
BFF suggested that NIQUE challenge ~L to do the Bible in 90 Days WITH her!!!! LOL I will "spoon feed" him the sections of the Bible each morning via facebook posts, so that he knows what to do, but it is still up to HIM to do it. He will simply reply to me when it is done! :)
Meanwhile, I too am accountable to HIM, and I certainly do NOT want an 11 year old to succeed where I fail!!! LOL
The challenge is set!!!

Soon you will see a new addition to my "Reading Challenge 2010" page and my notations on books and book reviews. From now until (I believe) August 13th, our library is running it's summer reading programs. They actually all began on June 7th, but I wasn't signed up until later. The first book I was able to enter with was Forgiven. I will notate this on my book list with SUM.
I have no goal associated with this, just to do it. There are prizes in a raffle and I don't really even care about that! LOL BFF actually told me she'd signed me up for it, and that was fine with me. :)

Forgiven continues the saga of the Baxter family. This is the 2nd book of the Firstborn Series, the 2nd of three series of the Baxter family. This series concentrates primarily on the relationship between Dayne and Katy as well as Dayne's and John Baxter's simultaneous searches for each other.
As Kingsbury has such an ability to do, the book sucked me in and made me want to finish it quickly (much to the detriment of my sleep last night!)
We see each of the main Baxter siblings at least briefly, but quite a bit of Ashley as she seems to play a big role in John's search for his missing Firstborn son.
A beautifully written book that has me eager to read the next in the Firstborn series!

It's been a busy week to ten days. We went to PA to go to church camp meeting and see BFF's BIL be ordained. What a great experience. It was fun to camp out in our tent too! :)
I am back in the swing of work, and training in my position as a back up book keeper. I am spending the next week or so catching up on some reading I am behind on. I have books sitting here that I've had out from the library for like 2 months!! I think the one book I'll have to return and reborrow at a later time. It comes HIGHLY recommended too. But I'd rather finish some others first. Great thing about the library, I can get them later!!! :)
Well, off to read!! :)
